Late summer lure fishing for Murray cod
Lure fishing for Murray cod has to be one of the most popular forms of freshwater fishing in Australia.
Bait fishing for Murray cod remains popular too which makes me very happy as I love bait fishing, but in recent years it is lure fishing that has really taken over in the field of Murray cod fishing. While lure fishing has been popular for many decades, it has only been the last 20 to 25 years that we have really seen this type of Murray cod fishing accelerate in popularity.
My favourite type of lure fishing for Murray cod would have to be the use of surface lures. I absolutely LOVE surface fishing for Murray cod. The lack of snags, the ease of fishing and best of all, the shear excitement of a surface book from a Murray cod is what draws me back time and time again.
Unfortunately on this occasion, there were no surface boofs. It was actually very quiet on the surface but thankfully we did catch one Murray cod on an old mate lure.
Speaking of old mate lures, here is my link. Remember, when you get to the checkout you MUST use the discount code “robbiefishing” in order for the 10% discount to be applied. https://www.trellys.com.au/collections/vendors?q=Old%20Mate%20Lures
