Big Tarpon Fishing Spring 2015
Jeff hooks into a monster Tarpon way up the river.
This spring the Tarpon was insane in Fort Lauderdale, alot of big Tarpon caught in the intracoastal and the New River. For the first time in several years the big tarpon were eating shrimp that flow out of the river on the outgoing tide.
This shrimp tide is nothing like the Miami shrimp run, where the currents and tide carry the shrimp across the Bay and over the grass flats.
These are different shrimp, and several times this spring we had tarpon all around the boat and they weren’t eating mullet, they were eating these tiny shrimp.
Tough fishing but a good result when we hooked into these monster tarpon.
