Wisconsin Trout Fishing – 2/17/2020 Happy Presidents’ Day

This has been a special day in year’s past, with some epic results. 2020 began very mild, but then the cold and snow has dominated.

This is a 3 stop day. My desired spot was frozen solid. 2nd stop was very slow and I walked out at the 3 hour mark. Third spot is near me and I found some fish. Strange to find a strong brookie presence. 1st time ever that I caught more brookies than browns on this system.

Perhaps the HI developments are fostering brookie returns. That would be a welcome development. Best brookie at 12″ and a 13″ brown here. 15 or so fish to hand. Stone flies and midges were in full hatch here.
