Montauk Fluke (Summer Flounder) – First 2019 Trip Plus a Deep Sea Mystery Creature!

With the fluke fishing just really bad right now in the Peconic Bay, NY region (more of that in the video), Captain Rick decided it was worth trying Montauk on this beautiful Saturday, May 29, 2019.

It is the earliest I’ve ever made the 35 mile run from Greenport, NY to Montauk, NY as the fishing in the Greenport area is usually excellent in May. USUALLY is the key word here as the fluke fishing has been nothing short of terrible this Spring.

Montauk wasn’t much better but we did manage a couple of nice keepers and a surprise new species to me, an Ocean Pout!

With the new to me Sea Vee closer to being water ready, keep your eyes open for our next subscriber contest!
